ABD’de Golden Retriever cinsi köpeklere yardım için kurulan ‘Adopt a Golden’ adlı derneğin başkanı Lauren Genkinger, Türkiye’de sokağa terk edilmiş 36 adet Golden Retriever cinsi köpeği Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’ne naklettiklerini açıkladı.
Köpeklerin, İstanbul’daki bir barınaktan alındığı açıklandı. Barınağın adı verilmedi.
İNGİLİZCE KOMUT EĞİTİMİ VERİLECEK
Dernek başkanı Genkinger, barınağın köpekleri ABD’ye nakletmesinin nedeninin, ‘aşırı köpek yoğunluğu’ olduğunu kaydetti. Atlanta kentinde bir köpek barınağının yöneticiliğini yürüten Lauren Genkinger, köpeklerin 19 saatlik bir uçak yolculuğu yapmalarına rağmen yeni yuvalarına adaptasyon sorunu çekmediğini belirtti. Haziran başında yeni sahiplerine teslim edilmesi beklenen 36 köpek, sadece Türkçe komut almaya alışkın oldukları için ilk olarak İngilizce emir alma eğitimine tabi tutulacak.

Eğitimlerinin ardından derneğin belirlediği koşullara sahip ailelere verilecek. ‘Adopt a Golden’ derneği ABD’de ve tüm dünyada sahipsiz, hasta ya da zor durumda bulunan köpekleri toplayıp rehabilitasyonunu yaptıktan sonra ömür boyu bakılmak üzere yeni sahiplerine veriliyor.

Barınak, bir sene içinde 400’ü aşkın köpeği sokaklardan kurtarıp, yeni sahipler bulmasını sağlıyor. 2013 yılında kurulan ‘Adopt a Golden’, tamamen gönüllülerden oluşuyor.
