UNICEF iyi niyet elçisi olan dünyaca ünlü İngiliz pop yıldızı Robbie Williams, gelecek ay Tel Aviv’de vereceği konser nedeniyle İngiltere’nin başkenti Londra’da protesto edildi.
Birleşmiş Milletler Çocuk Fonu’nun (UNICEF) iyi niyet elçisi olan dünyaca ünlü İngiliz pop yıldızı Robbie Williams, gelecek ay Tel Aviv’de vereceği konser nedeniyle İngiltere’nin başkenti Londra’da protesto edildi.

“London Palestine Action” isimli Filistin yanlışı kuruluş tarafından UNICEF’in Londra’daki bürosunun önünde düzenlenen gösteride katılımcılar ünlü şarkıcının İsrail konserini iptal etmesini isterken, UNICEF’e de Williams’ı konser planlarını değiştirmesi için ikna etmesi tavsiyesinde bulundu
“İsrail’de konser vermek, apartheidi desteklemek anlamına geliyor” sloganı atan katılımcılar Robbie Williams maskesi takarak, ünlü şarkıcının bazı parçalarının sözlerini değiştirerek söylediler.

Protestoya katılanlardan İskoç mühendis Rob Langlands AA muhabirine yaptığı açıklamada, Williams’ın UNICEF tarafından yürütülen çocukları şiddet, hastalık, açlık ve savaş halinden korumayı amaçlayan “Tehlikedeki Çocuklar” kampanyasına destek verdiğini belirterek, “Ya Robbie Williams İsrail gösterisini iptal etmeli, ya da UNICEF Williams’ın elçiliğini çekmeli. UNICEF’e bu durumun çelişkili olduğunu belirtmek istiyoruz. Robbie Williams, UNICEF elçisi seçildikten bir hafta sonra İsrail konserini planladı. Bu çok garip bir durum. Bu durum UNICEF’i zehirleyecektir. Bu konuda Robbie ikna edilmelidir” diye konuştu.

Williams’a yapılan çağrı kapsamında ayrıca ünlü şarkıcının konserini iptal etmesi için başlatılan imza kampanyasına yaklaşık 5 bin kişi katıldı.

Filistin merkezli “İsrail’in akademik ve kültürel boykotu için Filistin kampanyası (PACBI)” adlı örgütün destek verdiği protestoda Williams’a, “Filistinliler, gelecek ay Tel Aviv’de vereceğin konseri iptal etmen için sana çağrıda bulunuyor. İsrail’in, uluslararası hukuku ve Filistin halkının insan haklarını korkunç şekilde ihlallerinin üzerini senin adını kullanarak örtmesine izin verme. Eğer özgürlük, adalet ve eşitlik mücadelemize destek veremiyorsan, o zaman en azından baltalama” mesajı verildi.

Let Me Entertain You” isimli konser ve sahne şovuyla dünya turnesine çıkan 41 yaşındaki İngiliz şarkıcı Williams, 2 Mayıs’ta Tel Aviv’de hayranlarına seslenmeyi planlıyor.
