İki eski lise aşığının 20 yıl sonra, bir cenaze nedeniyle doğup büyüdükleri kasabada yeniden bir araya gelmelerini konu alan filmin senaryosu Monaghan’ın yanı sıra J. Mills Goodloe ve Will Fetters tarafından kaleme alınmış. Başrolde de Hoffman var.

İsmini gizli tutan bir kaynak ise filmin oyuncaklarının ilk sunumlarını gördüğünü ve şimdiye kadar görmediğimiz yeni kaplumbağaların neye benzediğini açıkladı. Kaynağa göre kaplumbağalar birkaç modern ekleme ve ufak tefek zırh parçaları haricinde orijinal ve alıştığımız tasarımlara oldukça yakın. Kaplumbağaların ustası fare Splinter ise bir kez daha köklerine uygun olarak tasarlanmış.
Ortadaki tek sorun ise ekibin baş düşmanı Shredder’ın görüntüsüymüş. Shredder’ın zırhı oldukça abartılı ve absürd derecede heybetliymiş. Film ekibinin sanal mecrada topa tutulmasıyla başlayan köklere dönüş şayet senaryonun tamamına yansıdıysa karşımızda kaliteli bir Ninja Kaplumbağalar uyarlaması bulabiliriz! 8 Ağustos 2014 tarihinde vizyona girecek olan filmin başrolünde ise April rölündeki Megan Fox bulunuyor.
